  • DESCRIPTION

The “Souvenir d’Italie” collection is a new link between the Alessi “Figures”. Colourful little statues as the emblem of a heterogeneous country and the wealth of its traditions: “design souvenirs” that represent the different, multi-faceted aspects of Italian style. A wealth and variety also found on an expressive level in the contrasting languages of the two designers involved in the project: Massimo Giacon and Antonio Aricò. The ironic, cartoon style of Giacon is balanced by the more delicate touch of Aricò, who is attentive to tiny production details and whose characters copy the classic vein of fine porcelain figurines, typical of the European tradition. Antonio Aricò bases his poetry on family and cultural roots that he reworks in pieces bursting with imagination and dreams.
